Brawl For It All. Yankees-Giants Vie For SJMSBL 25+ League Championship

October 5, 2016

Sunday October 9 - Los Gatos HS - 10 AM

This Sunday is the Brawl for it All as the SJMSBL crowns a true league champion in the 25+ divisions.

The last time there was one champion for all 25+ teams was 2000.

The Yankees (21-4-0) are arguably the greatest team to ever take the field in their division and last Sunday became the first team to ever win three straight Ettare championships.

The Giants (20-4-1) are hands down the greatest team in league history with a record that can not be matched - 17 championships (10 league wide plus 7 division titles) and appearances in the championship series in 24 of the 29 league seasons.

Last Sunday the Giants won their 3rd straight Dunn division championship and 4th title in the last five years.

Since the Ettare division was formed in 2008 there has been plenty of talk about which division champion was the better team.

On Sunday the time for talking is over - there will be ONE CHAMPION crowned.

Good Luck to the Ettare Champ Yankees and Dunn Champ Giants - may the best team win!

Longtime Blue Jay Gino Panelli Passes Away

July 5, 2016
Former Blue Jay Gino Panelli Passes Away

Gino Panelli, a longtime member of the former Dunn division Blue Jays, passed away June 25, 2016 after a 5-year battle with colon cancer. Services will be held on Thursday, July 7th.

You can read Gino's obituary for more information.

Longtime Blue Jays manager Jerry Hoffman was kind enough to write a few words about Gino.

To all our MSBL friends, players and opponents, the loss of our teammate Gino Panelli is devastating.

"Pudge" was a roll model for all. His accomplishments on the playing field are secondary to his impact as a man. I am humbled and honored to have played with Gino. He was a man of great character, charisma and superior talent on the field, and class 24/7 off the diamond. His kindness, support, and genuine love of the game can not be understated.

Gino was a special person, who played in pain for years and never complained. His obvious ability as a baseball player is evident for all who played with and against him on the field, but his countless friends will most remember his heart and soul. How he made others feel. Numerous bouts with different forms of cancer never compromised his spirit. Gino's legacy will last forever.

Our MSBL battles with the Indians and Giants in particular are etched in everyone's memory who had the honor to know him.

RIP Gino Panelli.
