Game 1 was Chad Badger vs Mike Pence and was very competitive throughout the entire game. Pence pitched 7 innings allowing 3 earned runs.

With the Colt 45's up 5-1, the A's put up 4 runs in the 5th inning and scored another one in the 8th to steal the win.

Lee Shaffer made his Colt 45's return after a year long shoulder rehab and made an immediate impact with 3 hits in game 1 to lead the 45's. Rene Zungia led the A's with a single and double in game 1 and Danny Rico hit a solo home run. Matt Melott hit his team high 4th home run of the season.
