Mariners overcome a great pitching performance by the Rays Brian Butcher, as well as a flawless game by the Rays defense, to pull out the win in walk-off fashion in the bottom of the ninth.
Trailing 5-4 entering the bottom of the 9th, M's leadoff man Ernie Molieri gets the job done by leading off the inning with a single and a steal. Luis Macias knocks Molieri home for the tying run--Macias's third RBI of the game. A base hit by Eric Eldredge sends Macias to third, and, with two outs, Angel Aguirre comes through with the big, walk-off, line drive single to right.
M's ace Adrian Nuno improves to 6-3 with his complete game effort, allowing just two earned runs over nine innings.
Great game, Rays!
