The Phillies and the Yankees passed the lead back and forth five times on Sunday at Challenger, but in the end the Phillies pulled out a 3-2 win in seven innings over the Yankees.

The Phillies took the lead in the fifth inning and held on for the victory. The Phillies scored on an RBI single by David Gutierrez off Javier, bringing home Jeremy Irby.

Gilbert Guel held the Yankees scoreless for 5 1/3 innings. Guel allowed three hits, two walks and struck out three.

The top of the first saw the Phillies take an early lead, 1-0.

It didn't take long for the Yankees to respond as they scored two runs of their own in the first. The Yankees scored on an RBI single by Javier and an RBI single by Williams.
