Reds put on a laser show all the way into the 9th, scoring 3 then to cushion the lead at 14-7 going into the bottom. Mets finally awoke and scored 8 in the final inning to get the 15-14 walkoff win. Tim Baldwin drove in Drew Pleasant for the go ahead run, while Paul Croghan perched on a limb and vultured the Win.

Mike Pence was the star of game 1 pitching a complete game shut-out giving up only 3 hits, 2 of which were highly questionable infield singles, while striking out 10. Pence faced only 25 batters in the 7 inning complete game.
