The Phillies held tough until late against the Orioles on Sunday, but the Orioles scored six runs late for a 14-6 victory at Evergreen.

David Gutierrez had a busy day at the plate, collecting two extra-base hits. He homered in the third inning, singled in the first and fifth innings, and doubled in the eighth inning.

The Phillies jumped out to an early 2-0 lead in the bottom of the first. The Phillies got things going when Johnny Santos singled. A stolen base then moved Johnny from second to third. David singled, bringing home Johnny. The scoreboard lit up again for the Phillies when Irby scored on a fielder's choice.

The lead stayed with the Orioles after the second, when they scored five runs on a two-run double by Bronse, a passed ball, and a two-run single by Rains.

One run in the bottom of the third helped the Phillies close their deficit to 5-3. A solo home run by David triggered the Phillies' comeback. Finally, Chase induced an inning-ending fly out from Thor Yturralde.

Two runs in the bottom of the fifth helped the Phillies close their deficit to 6-5. A solo home run by Travis Ahrens and an RBI double by Nate Wyms sparked the Phillies' rally. Finally, Chase got Thor to fly out to end the threat.

The Orioles added two more runs in the top of the sixth. Bronse's single got things going, scoring Fraser. That was followed up by Bronse's triple, bringing home Bronse.

The Orioles increased their lead with six runs in the seventh. A wild pitch scored Gonzalez to start the scoring in the inning. That was followed up by Fulton's double, plating Freddy and Rains.

The Phillies scored one run in the bottom of the eighth to cut their deficit to seven. An RBI single by Thomas Sabo gave the Phillies life. The Orioles closed the game out when Garcia got Patrick Battiste to strike out.

The Phillies lost 9-5 in seven innings at Evergreen on Sunday, despite outhitting the Orioles 10 to nine.

Jeremy Irby racked up three RBIs on three hits for the Phillies. He singled in the third, fifth, and seventh innings.

The Orioles never surrendered the lead after the second inning, scoring four runs on two singles.

Two runs in the top of the third helped the Phillies close their deficit to 4-2. A two-run single by Jeremy gave the Phillies life. Finally, Fulton got Travis Ahrens to fly out to end the threat.

The Orioles piled on two more runs in the bottom of the fourth. A clutch steal of home scored Newman to open the scoring in the frame.

After pushing across two runs in the top of the fifth, the Phillies faced just a 6-4 deficit. A two-run double by Travis sparked the Phillies' rally. Finally, Fulton induced an inning-ending from Nate Wyms.

The Orioles added three more runs in the bottom of the sixth. Fulton kicked things off with a double, plating Pardo. That was followed up by Sanchez's single, scoring Fraser and Newman.

One run in the top of the seventh helped the Phillies close their deficit to 9-5. An RBI single by Jeremy triggered the Phillies' comeback. Finally, Fulton got Nate to to end the game.
