Don't Go Soft, Play Hardball!

2013 Playoffs Start Next Week - Every Game Counts This Sunday!

The second season in the San José MSBL gets underway on August 25. The top six teams in the Dunn and Nicewonger divisions plus the top eight teams in the Ettare division will get to play at least two more games of baseball.

Fields will be assigned next week after the regular season concludes this Sunday. EVERY game being played this week has playoff seeding ramifications in what promises to be a wild final weekend.

Only one playoff spot is up for grabs this week as the Angels and Athletics battle for the final playoff spot in the Dunn division. The Angels hold the tie breaker over the Athletics by virtue of winning two of the three games between the team this season. So the A?s have to overtake the Angels in total points to reach the post season.

Playoff seeding is yet to be determined in all three divisions with many possible outcomes possible in all three divisions.

The top five spots are up for grabs in the wild Dunn division with four teams having a mathematical chance to take the top spot or earn one of the two first game byes.

In the Ettare division the defending champion Orioles have all but clinched the #1 seed for the playoffs. The Pirates have an outside shot at overtaking the Orioles but need to sweep their doubleheader vs the Rays, hope the White Sox sweep the Orioles and overcome a 10 run deficit in runs differential.

There is a four team scramble for the 2nd through 5th seeds and a three team battle for the 6th through 8th seeds. So every division game counts on the final Sunday of the season in the Ettare division.

The mighty Reds have clinched the #1 seed in the Nicewonger division with an impressive 17-2 record this season. The Mets have clinched the #2 seed and the Royals own the #3 seed for the playoffs. All six playoff teams have been determined in the division but the Twins, Colt .45s and Marlins are all fighting for the 4th seed on Sunday.
