Not even a strong hitting and pitching performance from Bryce Shepherd could carry the Rays past the Yankees at Challenger on Sunday as the Rays suffered a 14-0 defeat.

The Rays were led by Shepherd's hitting. Shepherd went 1-2. He singled in the fourth inning.

Shepherd was in control on the mound. Shepherd gave up just two hits, allowed two earned runs, walked none and struck out four during his three innings of work.

Bryce Shepherd had two extra-base hits for the Rays. He singled in the first inning, homered in the third inning, and doubled in the fourth inning.
