Fernando pitched another good game and Kasey Zak gave us a big bump in the 4th with the game tied hitting a 3-run bomb to center.

John Pardo was able to keep the Orioles in the game by keeping a very good Rays team contained while the O's hitters figured out the new Rays' pitcher. Pardo pitched a complete game, striking out 10 over eight innings.

Matt Fraser provided the power with two HRs.


Chris Scaduto had two extra base hits, but the Rays still fell to the Orioles 8-5 in eight innings on Sunday at Challenger.

The Orioles were sparked by Sheehan and Fraser, who teamed up for four hits and six RBIs.

The Rays jumped out to an early 1-0 lead in the bottom of the second. Brian Butcher kicked things off for the Rays with a single.

The Orioles never surrendered the lead after the fifth inning, scoring five runs on a two-run home run by Fraser and two singles.

The Rays scored one run in the fifth inning, and then followed it up with one more in the seventh. In the fifth, the Rays scored on an RBI single by John Culbertson, scoring Gilbert Ramirez.

An RBI double by Scaduto sparked the Rays' rally. Culbertson to end the Rays threat.

A determined Rays squad came out hitting in Game Two with a monster first inning rally. By the time the O's had their first at-bat, the O's faced a 13-0 deficit. However, O's offense went to work and managed to overcome the huge deficit over the next three innings.


The Rays led by 13 runs in the first inning, but the Orioles put together a furious comeback to steal the victory, 20-13, on Sunday at Challenger.

The Orioles pounded the Rays pitching, as eight hitters combined for 17 hits, 18 RBIs and 18 runs scored.

The top of the first saw the Rays take an early lead, 13-0. Chris Scaduto singled to ignite the Rays' offense, before Bryce Shepherd doubled, scoring Scaduto. The scoreboard lit up again for the Rays when Shepherd and Ramirez scored on a two-run double by Jamal Fulton, Fulton scored on an RBI double by Carlos Noriega, Noriega scored on an RBI single by Brian Butcher, Alcantar scored on an RBI single by Patrick Battiste, Butcher and Battiste scored on a two-run single by Scaduto, Fulton and Scaduto scored on a two-run single by Shepherd, Culbertson scored on an RBI double by Fulton, and Shepherd and Fulton scored on a two-run single by Noriega.

The lead stayed with the Orioles after the fourth, when they scored seven runs on a two-run double by Conroy, a groundout by Pardo, and three singles.

Ken Gentert pitches his 9 inning first complete game of his career against the Twins in a 5-2 victory. He only gave up 4 hits (3 in the first inning) and allowed 2 unearned runs. He also pitched from the 2nd through the 8th inning without allowing a single hit.

The Colt 45's offense combined for 10 hits (3 by Nate Davidson) to help Gentert secure the win.
