Dean Fulton brought home the go-ahead run to give the Rays the lead in the seventh inning, as the Rays hung on to beat the Pirates 8-5 on Sunday.

Charles "Chuck" Rivera singled to start the seventh. He then went from first to second on a single by Ed Reyes. Finally, Fulton came to the plate with the score tied at one, and singled, scoring Rivera and Patrick Battiste.

Bryce Shepherd racked up two RBIs on three hits for the Rays. He singled in the third and sixth innings and homered in the seventh inning.

Brian Butcher worked out of six tough spots for the Rays. He pitched five innings and allowed one earned run on three hits. Butcher faced his most difficult moment in the fifth inning.

The Rays jumped out to an early 1-0 lead in the bottom of the second. Butcher singled to ignite the Rays' offense. Then moved Butcher from second to third.

After pushing across four runs in the top of the eighth, the Pirates faced just a 8-5 deficit. An error, an RBI single by R Czajkowski, an RBI single by K Ventura, and an RBI single by R Sud sparked the Pirates' rally. Finally, Shepherd got Hector Aponte to ground out to end the game.

Tim Baldwin kept the Royals in the game with 3 excellent innings of releif and Gersey closed out the game with another shutout inning.

The Padres jumped out to a 3-0 lead in the first inning. The Knights then scored 1 in the 3rd, and put up back-to-back crooked numbers, with 3 in the 4th and 5 in the 5th, to make the score 9-3.

The Padres chipped away at the lead, by scoring 4 in the bottom of the 5th, and tying the game with 2 in the bottom of the 6th.

Both sides put up zeroes in the 7th and 8th. The Knights scored 1 in the top of the 9th, on a Bobby Lawson double, and a single by Thomas Figg.

The Padres though, came back with 2 of their own in the bottom of 9th. With 1 out, and runners at 2nd and 3rd, Erik Ehlers ripped a double down the left field line, scoring both runners, and giving the Padres the 11-10 win.
