Challenger - Game 1
Orioles 9
Mariners 9
HR >> Orioles: M. Brouse. Mariners: Macias.

A great, but somewhat sloppy game.

The Orioles took advantage of four Mariners errors in the first to score four runs, then were held scoreless through the sixth by John Pardo. Meanwhile, the Mariners also took advantage of some errors in the fourth to score six, highlighted by Luis Macias's second homer in as many weeks. Three more in the fifth for the M's gave them a 9-4 lead, but the O's struck back with three in the seventh, which started off with a Mark Brouse homer, and two more in the top of the eighth.

Chris Cooper shut down the Mariners offense in the seventh, and then in the bottom of the eighth and final inning to preserve the tie. Another Orioles-Mariners classic!
