Cubbies leadoff hitter had a nice day at the plate.

Jeff Canter does it again for the Royals leading the way with 5 RBI's in both games.

Stevie McLean, ex-Cub and now Royal SS, was perfect with the stick and flashed that gold glove at short!

Royals pounded out 7 hits in the first inning and never let up. Joey Canter and Steve Connolly provided excellent efforts on the hill.

Cubbies manager didn't have enough pitching on this beautiful Sunday, some may have left for the beach? Beanballs were flyin and fans were rowdy. Cubs starter went 1+ and the Royals cruised in this dozy.

Brian Thomas was a perfect 5-for-5 in both games. New Royal leadoff hitter and #1 draft choice Victor Gonzo ate up the base paths with 4 SB's and scored 5 runs. Ray Hutchison was 3-for-3 in Game 2 and scored 6 runs on the day. R Becks tallied 5 runs and 4 RBI for both games.

TJ Gersey went 4 solid innings and Cole Gummere capped it with a perfect 5th.

Red Sox jumped out to a 4-run lead but the resilient Padres batteled back in the 7th to tie the game. Both teams traded runs in the following innings only to have the Red Sox load the bases in the bottom of the 9th and Tony Anderson providing the game winning hit for the Red Sox victory.

Nelson Villanueva and Dan England both had gutsy performances on the mound, as both teams hit the ball well, with the Padres collecting 16 hits, the Red Sox collecting 18 hits. Great game !
