Mets came out swingin', scoring 3 in the first. Behind the arm of Eddie Newman, it turned out that's all they would need. Newman shut the doors on Reds offense for a complete game victory! 13-2 Mets was the final.

Again, the Mets came out big in the first. This time scoring 6. The Reds had none of it, however, as the fight was still in them.

Down 14-8 in the 8th the Reds exploded for 6 runs to tie it up. Russell Laubach (the Vulture) had allowed the game to come to a tie on the hill in the 8th. In the 9th he blasted a 2-run shot over the left field fence to take the lead for good. Laubach finished the 9th on the hill for the Championship Game win!!!

John Siefert's first-inning grand slam set the tone. O's sent their entire line-up to the plate in the first two innings.

Brian Siefert had another strong outing, striking out 3 over 4 innings. Steve Chase continued O's mound-dominance in relief.

Orioles:
C. Rains (3-5, 3 Runs, 2 RBI, 3 SB), J. Siefert (3-4, HR (GS), BB, 5 RBI), J. Ortiz (3-4, 3 Runs, 2B, 2 RBI).

Having seen limited work in Game 1, Brian Siefert agrees to start Game 2. Once again, Siefert goes the distance pitching a complete game striking out 6 over 7 innings.

Like in the first game, O's bats came out speaking loudly. Chris Conroy got the Orioles started by connecting for a home run to LF in the first inning, and added another HR to provide insurance in the 6th.

With the win the Orioles secure their first Championship.
