Reds entered Game 2 of the set with a sour taste in their mouths from the Game 1 meltdown. Leadoff hitter, Steve Goldberg, started Game 2 off with a home run over the left field fence, and three batters later, cleanup hitter José Rodriguez added a two-run shot which was his second home run on the day.
Reds pitching held the Royals to one run through 6 innings. The Royals added 2 more runs in the bottom of the 7th and threatened to pull off yet another comeback.
