Willow Glen - Game 1
Blue Jays 6
Indians 5
WP: Mike Pramuck.
HR >> Blue Jays: Giuffre.

The anticipated matchup of two former minor league pitchers found only one toeing the rubber. Jaime Ybarra was to duel Travis Talbot, but the Blue Jay Ace woke up sick so Fred de Young got his first start. The 26-year-old southpaw was staked to a 4-0 lead and looked strong through 5 until the Indians put up a 5-spot in the 6th and were threatening to add more.

When de Young hit the wall, veteran Mike Pramuck came in, inheriting a 3-0 count with 2 runners in scoring position. The 49-year-old slingshot delivery specialist promptly threw 3 straight strikes to end the inning, but the Indians led 5-4 heading into the Jay's final at bat.

Gino Panelli led off with a single and one out later, Guy Giuffre blasted an Ybarra slider over the the 360 sign in left center for a 6-5 edge. Pramuck then held the Indians scoreless in the final frame for the victory.

It was the 4th consecutive game Giuffre has homered for the Blue Jays.

Indians are class act and many will be joining us for drinks after our doubleheader later in the season at Aptos. I believe this is the first Blue Jay victory over Ybarra and the Indians.
