Two tremendous ballgames. Neither team would give an inch, and both games were close, hard fought, exciting and tense.

In Game One, Tiger's starter Jim Costello and Blue Jay ace Travis Talbot each were dominate. Costello held the Jays to 3 runs in 8 innings of work. Talbot went the distance in the 10 inning affair which ended with a safe slide at the plate by Fred de Young who scored from first on Mike Park's double down the right field line on a bang-bang play.

Talbot struck out 19 Tigers, but they rallied with 2 in the 9th to send the game into extra innings. A well played, spirited contest with great sportsmanship and respect. A hell of game.

The Tiger fell behind 8-2 after the Blue Jays posted a 5 spot in the 3rd but battled back and brought the potential deadlock run to the plate in the 6th.

Dan Ferreira went the distance and helped his cause at the plate. He was backed by solid defense to preserve the 8-6 Blue Jay win and double-dip sweep.

Both games could have gone the other way, as the Tigers continued to battle back all day long. Guy Guiffre homered in Game Two as well. Terrific day at the yard.

Royals got the split winnning Game 2 thanks to a good team hitting performance and 5 solid innings of relief by Cole Gummere.

Nick Rizzi picked up his 1st hit of the year, a double down the right field line.

Cubs battled hard to make it and interesting 2 game series.

Reds were cruising into the 6th inning with an 8-4 lead when the A's rallied to tie the game up in the bottom half of the inning. The Reds responded with 6 runs in the top of the 7th inning and added another in the 9th inning.

Starter Rich Valencia pitched a solid game going 5 full innings with 5 strikeouts in the no-decision. Reds reliever Steve Thompson came in and shut the door throwing 3 1/3 innings of no-hit baseball.

José "Choco" Rodriguez tagged 2 HR's with a total of 5 hits for the game.

This one was a pitcher's duel. A's pitcher Romero had a 2-1 lead going into the bottom of the 5th when the Reds rallied to score 2 runs and take the lead. The Reds added some insurance in the bottom of the 6th scoring two more runs to seal the game and sweep the series.

Another strong outing from Reds ace Adam Paredes, adding yet another complete game to his 2010 resume.

José "Choco" Rodriguez making a strong bid for the mid-season classic going 3-4 with 2 RBIs and 2 2Bs for a grand total of 8 hits on the day (2 HR, 2 2B, 6 RBIs).

The Pirates played the first 4 innings with only 8 players and were only down by one thanks to some good defensive plays.

The Bucs added 2 in the 5th and a needed insurance run in the 6th. The Rays mounted a 7th inning rally that scored one and the bases were loaded when the final out was made.

Ryan Czajkowski went the distance for the Pirates.

Mike Denevi threw a complete game 4 hitter with 0 earned runs to get the win. Mike Denevi amd Jaime Ybarra both pitched well.

The Giants took the a 1-0 lead in the first and added a run in the 3rd with a home run by Casey Neale. Huck Hibberd hit a solo shot in the 6th to extend the lead to 3-0.

Despite 6 errors, the Giants made up for the mistakes by turning 4 double plays. Both games were very competetive.

Ric Foley threw 5 shutout innings and left the game with a 1-0 lead. Mikey "The Vulture" Smith relieved Ric in the 6th. He gave up a 2-run shot to Gutierrez to put the Indians in front 2-1.

In the top of the 7th, the Giants put a rally together and scored 5 runs to re-take the lead. Steve Chase drove in the game winner with a RBI single.

Mikey Smith turned in the 1-2-3 7th to swoop in and get the win. Mike Smith of the Indians pitch a great game too.

Great pitching and defensive matchup, as the Red Sox jumped to a 3-run lead in the 1st and then were held scoreless for the remainder of the game by the Astros pitcher Betancourt.

Lou Evans of the Red Sox pitched a complete game shut-out, striking out 13. The Astros Kalev Betancourt pitched a great game of his own, striking out 8.

Jon Norris threw a perfect game until the 6th inning, ending up with a 2 hit shutout.

Astros scored 6 runs late to lock the victory. Both teams brought their best pitching today. First game was close, and the second game too, though the score did not reflect it.
