Once again a Blue Jay pitcher homered, but the big blow was Josh Sheehan's Grand Slam in the 3rd.

Travis Talbott struck out 15, but Frank Walsh went 4-4 with a pair of doubles for the White Sox.

The Jays now host the Cardinals next week at Aptos for the Pacific Division title.

De Anza - Game 1
Cardinals 12
Red Sox 1
WP: Bryan Smith.
HR >> None.

Smith allowed only 1 hit through 5 1/3 innings. Mitchell came in to close the game in 7.

Cardinal bats were hot all day, but Cardinals defense was the key to the victory in Game 1. Credit goes to the Red Sox for giving the Cardinals all they could handle. The score was not indicative of how tough they played us.

Young goes yard in the 7th to ice a very close game. Again a very tough, well played game by the Red Sox. Chris Jensen pitched well, but the Cardinals prevailed.

Indians Win Series 2-0.

WP: Straight. SV: Ybarra.

Jamie Ybarra's third-inning 3-run HR was the key for the Indian's offense. Not done yet, he pitched the final 2 outs to stop a Brewers rally in the ninth.

Great game against a tough Blue Jays team.

The 2nd seeded Jays came out swinging scoring 3 in the bottom of the 1st. Mets didn't answer until the 5th when starting pitcher Nick Doan helped himself with a solo job to deep left followed by a 2-run shot by "Kirk Gibson" Kirby.

Mets took the lead for good in the 6th when Doan brother Ryan hit a 2-run HR.

Nick Doan kept the good hitting Jays at bay for the remaining 8 innings!!!
