Reds(18) Nate Wrought is tagged out at the plate by Cubs(18) catcher Eric Ivers in the top of the 7th of game two of their doubleheader at Del Mar. The play kept the score close. The Reds(18) eventually prevailed 4-1. The Reds(18) also won game one 8-5. (Photo submitted by José Medina).

Padres second baseman Brian Ticoulet is tagged out by the Orioles second baseman Clinton "Skip" Skipton attempting to steal second in the bottom of the fourth inning at Prospect High School. The Orioles handed the Padres their first loss of the season, 11-6. (Photo submitted by Chad King).
Padres center fielder Micah Taylor connects on a single in the sixth inning during game two of the American Division Championship Series versus the Orioles at Prospect High School. Giants pitcher Kevin Wakeman delivers a pitch to the Indians Jamie Jones as center fielder Jon Cannon looks on during the Giants 3-1 game one win over the Indians in the National Division Championship series at Gilroy High School. The Giants finished their sweep with a 6-0 win in game two to capture their second straight title. (Photo by Dominique Wakeman, submitted by Kevin Wakeman).
Braves pitcher Paul Codiga shows his determination in the Braves 9-8 loss to the Tigers on August 16th. Since there were no Photo of the Week submissions for August 30th, this photo from August 16th, which was found caught in "Spam Filter Land", was chosen to be Photo of the Week for August 30th. Padres catcher Landon Jacobs tosses his mask aside to catch a popup during game one of the Yankees/Padres best-of-three first-round playoff series at Prospect High School. The Padres won 7-2 and lead the series 1-0. (Photo submitted by Chad King).
Padres third baseman Joe Olheiser seems to be checking for Steve Sigler's signature on the ball as he gets a little chin music from Orioles pitching during the Padres 15-9 victory over the Orioles at Prospect High. The Padres finish the regular season atop the American Division with a 15-4-1 record and go into the playoffs as the #1 seed. (Photo submitted by Chad King).

Looks like everyone left the lens cap on this week. There weren't any photos submitted for Photo of the Week. (Photo submitted by Nobody).
Carinals outfielder Ryan "Warhammer" Warcken had a career day at Independence High going five-for-seven with eight RBIs leading the Cardinals offensive attack against the Pirates. "Warhammer" hit his first-ever home run in game two and followed it up with another HR later in the game. The Cards took both ends of the doubleheader from the gritty Pirates squad. Blue Jays(18) pitcher Andrew Kutsenda gets a pressure packed first at bat of his SJMSBL career as Andy Sanchez (on third) and Ben Harshorn (coaching third) look on. Kutsenda came through with an RBI single to score Sanchez in the top of the seventh inning of the first game of their doubleheader with the Astros(18) at De Anza. The Blue Jays(18) swept the Astros(18) 18-4 and 8-5. (Photo submitted by Teresa Hartshorn for Ben Hartshorn).
Reds(18) catcher Pete Hernandez steals third in the fourth inning of the Reds(18) 13-0 win over the Giants at Willow Glen. The young Reds(18) manager (Medina), stroking his 11-1 ego all week, was billing the game as a battle for league supremacy between last year's Central Champ Reds and National Champ Giants. The experienced Giants, having already proven their dominance years ago in professional ball when the Reds were still in grammar school, had other plans as their former Major Leaguers (Lorin Grow, Ron Dunn), former Triple-A players (Mike Denevi, John Yandle, Ric Foley), and top five pitchers decided to take advantage of the non-divisional weekend and enjoy family vacations. This just in. The SJMSBL ERA-VS-ERA Fantasy Game just had a meltdown as the 2009 Reds(18), trailing 23-0, couldn't get out of the first inning against the 12-time SJMSBL Champion Giants of the 90's. Orioles starting pitcher Ed Reyes deals against the Red Sox in the second inning of the Orioles 13-5 win over the Red Sox at Soquel. The Orioles and the Red Sox were playing in one of the two cross-division games of the day. (Photo submitted by Jim Hadley).
Reds(18) left fielder José "Choco" Rodrigues goes deep over the left field fence in the fourth inning of game one in the doubleheader between the Reds(18) and the A's(18) at Del Mar. The home run was his second solo shot of the game The undefeated Reds(18) pounded the A's(18) 12-2 in game one but lost their first game of the year as the A's(18) quieted the normally boastful Reds(18) winning game two 8-7. Eddie Rodarte is the A's(18) catcher. (Photo submitted by José Medina).
A's(18) catcher Luis Cardenas smacks a 350-foot two-run home run in the second inning of game one of the A's(18) doubleheader against the Astros(18) at Independence High School. Cardenas had quite a game going 4-for-4 with 3 RBI'S and 3 runs scored. The A's(18) swept the Astros(18) winning game one 21-3 and game two 10-7. Daniel Rideau is the Astros(18) catcher.
Cardinals pitcher Michael Garnica delivers a pitch on a blistering hot day at Fremont High School. Unfortunately for Garnica and the Cardinals they dropped both ends of the doubleheader against their division rival Blue Jays, 14-5 and 3-2. Second baseman Steve Arsenault is in the background.
Cardinals third baseman Greg Hancock connects for an RBI double in the 3rd inning of the Cardinals game against the Mariners on Opening Day at De Anza Junior College. The Cardinals scored early and held on for a 13-11 victory over a scrappy Mariners squad. (Photo submitted by Edward Padilla).
