The Twins had a new face on the hill, a hard throwing lefty (Lou Evans) who struck out 8 of the first 10 outs. They took the lead on a wild pitch late in the game, but the Tigers scrapped out a run, aided by an errant pickoff throw and won it in the bottom of the 7th on a walk-off HR by Bernard.
