Red Sox had 18 hits in a comeback that was 6-0 at one point to take one in the 9th from a tough Blue Jays team.

Don Davenport was an emergency starter going 6 2/3 for the Jays. Mike Barnes relieved yielding a pair of runs in the top of the 7th, but the Blue Jays rallied for two in the bottom of the final frame, ending with Barnes' game winning hit.

The Red Sox played with 8 after a mid-game injury to Bryden and still managed to take a 6-5 lead before falling in the bottom of the 7th in another great baseball game. Ballentine pulled a Kelly Leak and was a ball hog as a roving SS/2B.

Blue Jays:
Gino Panelli (4-4).

Red Sox:
White (2-3, 2B, Run, and a gutsy CG on the hill), Brotherton (2-4, 2B, 2 Runs).

Padres:
Joe Weber (1-4, 3 RBI), Steve Hungerford (3-4, HR, 5 RBI, 3 Runs), Shawn Owen (3-4, RBI, 2 Runs).

Orioles battled hard and defeated a weary Padre team. Great day of baseball well played by both teams.

Gino Morones pitched 6 strong innings giving up 5 hits striking out 4 and should have got the win but he got no support from his defense. 9 runs crossed the plate and none of them were earned!

Twins New(18):
Castaneda (3-5, RBI), Taylor (2-5, 2 RBI), Capilla (5 BB).

The Royals starter pitched really well and deserved a win, but Nick Taylor matched him and the Twins pulled it out in the the bottom of the 6th.

Mike Denevi threw a complete game for the win with 0 earned runs and 10 K's.

Nelson Villanueva went the distance in the loss, giving up 3 runs with 1 earned.

Noah Sweeters (3-4 2B, HR, 3 Runs,2 RBI), Kevin Wakeman (2-3, HBP, 2 Runs, RBI), Ed Berbana (3-3, 2B, Run ,3 RBI), Bob Moore (2-4, HR, Run, 2 RBI), Don Sanford (2-3, 2 Runs).

The Pirates jumped out to an early lead and held off a late charge by the Cards.

Not a lot of highlights in a sloppy game by both teams. Smith's HR and 4 RBIs and Marquez's 3-for-3 were bright spots for A's. 7 hit batsmen overall.

Much better played than Game 1, and closer than it looks. Riall Moore went 6 strong innings on the way to his 4th win, and 2-for-3 at bat. Matt Orvick went 4-for-4, and Mike Smith's 2-for-2 gave him a perfect 4-for-4 day overall. 5 more HBP's made it a total of 12 on the day over the two games. Ouch!

Braves:

Braves scored 2 runs in the bottom of the seventh. The winning run scored on catcher's interference with the bases loaded.

Back and forth game. Tied after the bottom of the sixth. Yankees score one in the top of the seventh. White Sox get tying run on but could not score.
